Rural development improves the living conditions in rural areas. It strengthening villages, landscapes and regions, promoting nature conservation as well as sustainably agriculture and forestry.
Therefore, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) is the main funding instrument. In Germany, the EAFRD is implemented through 13 country programmes. Each of these programme has a different focus. Because every country and region has different possibilities and potentials - and their own ideas. So it is important to communicate and learn from each other.
EAFRD regulation requires that a National Network for Rural Areas be set up in every country of the European Union. In Germany, DVS is the hub for all partners in Germany.
We support representatives of municipalities, administrations and associations, but also entrepreneurs, private individuals, local action groups from the LEADER focus, operational groups of the European innovation partnership EIP-Agri and other people who are active in rural development. Together they form the network of rural areas.
The DVS team looks forward to inquiries, suggestions, information and exchanges.
