Optimization of nitrogen efficiency and soil fertility through an integrated consideration of soil nutrients in potato, wheat and sugar beet crops
Concept development
Nitrogen (N) in excess originating from agricultural sources, results in nitrate leaching into ground/surface waters and airborne emissions. Measures to reduce these emissions consider a reduced N-supply and an increase in N-efficiency. From a previous EIP-Agri the potential for optimized N-efficiency in winter wheat through yield-zone-specific soil analysis and subsequent fertilization according to the Albrecht method could be elaborated. The Albrecht method recommends fertilization based on a soll analysis of micro- and macronutrients regarding the soil and the effect and interaction of the individual nutrients. As a result of the previous project and practical experience, a follow-up project will be developed and prepared with the aim of developing a fertiliser strategy. The following requirements should be considered in the planning: increasing N efficiency by reducing N emissions, feasibility in heterogeneous fields, cost reduction as well as increasing soll fertility.
Results and the Final report will be found here, as soon as the project is completed.
