ratiogeo using superconducting SQUID technology
The aim of the project is to reduce nitrogen (N) emissions from drained areas in the state of M-V. The implementation of the project focuses on installed drainage systems, the condition and functionality of which is often unknown due to a lack of data. In this project, a new technology is to be used in agriculture in order to achieve a reduction in nitrogen discharge from agricultural land. Farmers are to be enabled to determine the condition and functionality of their drainage systems quickly and cost-effectively. To date, SQUID TECHNOLOGY (superconducting quantum interference detectors) has been used in geo-exploration and in archaeological and ground engineering applications. Initial investigations have shown that this technology can also be used to detect and characterize drainage systems. With the implementation of the project idea, it should now be possible to map entire drainage systems and characterize the condition distribution in the investigated system as well as the possibility of identifying functional problem areas in the drainage system itself. The suitability of the SQUID-Tech
