Detection of new animal health indices based on automated carcass survey and integration of agricultural production characteristics
Optimum animal health in pig fattening is a prerequisite for sustainable, resource-conserving meat production. Objective indicators for the health of the pigs are carcass findings and operational production figures (daily weight gain, fattening days, veterinary costs, therapy index, etc.). The more automatically this data is recorded, evaluated and made available to the farmer as a decision-making aid, the more effectively and quickly action can be taken in terms of preventative animal welfare management.
Digitally supported data collection and intelligent algorithms (artificial intelligence (AI)) for determining meaningful indices, which are fed into an information system as required, can provide competent support for farmers' decision-making processes.
Automated, objective data collection in the slaughter process and its intelligent linking with information from the animal husbandry sites enables the partners involved in the supply chain to meet the social requirements for sustainable animal husbandry while ensuring transparent animal welfare conditions.
