Udder Health
The Udder Health OG combined scientific findings with the practical needs of the farms to develop a well-founded decision matrix. At the start of the project, practical objectives were defined and basic analyses were carried out to record the initial situation using existing farm data. Building on evidence-based knowledge of risk factors for udder diseases, further analysis steps were developed to enable the selection of individual measures.
The methodology developed was first implemented on paper and then transferred to a TYPO3-based web application - supplemented by input tools, automated evaluations and a detailed glossary.
The EUTERGESUND web application was developed as part of the project to support farmers, vets and advisors in their systematic udder health work. The practical tool facilitates data collection, presents information clearly and enables effective measures to be derived transparently. It offers targeted advice on diagnostics and therapy and supports continuous monitoring for sustainable success.
An integrated glossary provides extensive background information. The application can be used by both companies and consultants, thus promoting well-founded and uniform communication. The scientifically supported development of the analysis tools ensures a high quality standard in udder health management and at the same time creates a basis for future digital solutions in the field of animal health.
