Project Title

Hempilot Hemp use with AI-based cultivation assistant

Project description

Industrial hemp has immense potential for the bioeconomy, as it serves as a versatile and sustainable resource – with applications ranging from food and textiles to the construction industry. Traditionally, hemp has been cultivated either for oil or for fibre. In the spirit of the bioeconomy and to increase value creation, the focus should shift towards integrated utilisation – meaning the simultaneous use of seeds, fibres, and shives. However, many farmers are currently hesitant to enter hemp cultivation due to various challenges.
Our solution: Through the development of an AI-based cultivation assistant called Hempilot, users will gain access to practical information and recommendations on variety selection, cultivation strategies, and crop rotation. At the same time, Hempilot will serve as a central hub for market information, enabling farmers and entrepreneurs to stay informed about demand, market trends, and potential sales channels. Collaboration with farmers on an equal footing is crucial to the project’s success, as they contribute their practical expertise and play a key role in the development of the virtual assistant.
