Innovative value-added structures for goat kids from domestic landscape conservation in Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
Development and establishment of the value chain with fawn meat from hemic landscape conservation as a natural, regional production modelled on the Boer goat:
1. strengthening the ZZV BW as a stakeholder for the management and breeding of all goat farms in Baden-Württemberg => development and promotion of domestic goat breeding
2. breeding strategies with new traits => development of a performance test for meat goats in landscape management
3. utilisation of modern breeding methods for goats => establishment of an insemination station for goats in BW & evaluation of it
4. development of marketing and structures for regionally produced goat meat with a quality label => raising awareness for socially accepted, regional and natural use and husbandry of animals
5. marketing for goat kids via regional butchers and regional EDEKA markets in the southern Black Forest => promotion of local goat breeding and strengthening of farms
