Think tank for rural areas: Committed farmers as drivers of rural innovation
Concept development
Innovative ideas in rural areas are usually the result of committed and well-connected farmers. Implementation often fails due to a lack of know-how or time on the part of the idea provider. The aim of this project is to train farmers as project managers within the framework of a “rural think tank” to support the implementation of innovative ideas. They will provide advice on technical and strategic communication issues and help with setting up cooperatives. The coordination of knowledge transfer via the “Denkfabrik Land” is intended to multiply individual implemented ideas throughout Bavaria. The crucial points include research into organizational development and idea generation, the collection of specialist input through interviews and networking meeting, the development of guidelines for future project managers and marketing strategy. In addition, the interest of farmers in project management activities is to be determined. The concept development is initially based on the example application “citizen solar projects”.
