Project Title

CEFIR - Development of Decision Support Systems for a cost efficient Irrigation – Cost-Efficient Irrigation

Project description

Farms must balance crop irrigation requirements with the economic viability of specific irrigation measures. In Brandenburg, irrigation is not economically viable for every crop and situation. A decision support system (DSS) is to be developed to assess economic viability before irrigation measures are implemented. The DSS will be made available as an easy-to-use web app and will also be integrated into an existing app for irrigation control. It is being developed in collaboration with farmers. Field irrigation can become more efficient and sustainable with the DSS.
