Project Title

BoDi - Optimised fertilising management as interoperable agricultural service, based on soil sensing

Project description

The agriculture of Brandenburg is characterized by very heterogeneous soils and climatic challenges. Thus, it is particularly dependent on innovative approaches to precision farming. For these, precise site information, and climate-adapted fertilizer requirement models are missing. In the project, a software package to determine fertilizer requirements will be initially developed, using remote sensing and weather data as well as soil moisture. It will contain new functions for precise humus determination and evaluation. For texture mapping, a sensor prototype will be developed into a functional model. A new workflow for soil sampling will avoid media disruptions and loss of information. A cloud-based IT system environment will ensure the interaction of all components with operational systems and a new data processing app. Thanks to the constellation of the OG, all components can be developed, demonstrated, and validated in an operational environment, TRL 7-8. Efficient nutrient management will help Brandenburg to increase yields, reduce costs and reduce nutrient losses.
